1997

Mark Smith went from being a highly regarded lecturer in Glazing, at Edinburghs Telford college, to a one man Glazing company starting in 1997. Covering both domestic and commercial properties within Edinburgh & Lothian's.

Since 1997 things have went from strength to strength, gaining an excellent reputation within the business community.

1999

Mark hires his first member of staff.

Having worked for two years alone the company requires another Glazier to cope with the demand! Also, this meant that there was another Mark Smith Glazing van on the road, the trademark and brand now so well recognised for Glazing...

2000

Working from a base in Bonnyrigg in Midlothian, the company enjoys major expansion through the home improvement market. Now with an additional three members of staff, the company continues to evolve its service offering and skills.

2001

Mark Smith Glazing move to new premises in Portobello, Edinburgh.

In 2002 the company wins a major contract with a global shop fitting company to provide glazing services for the Monsoon clothing chain.

2003

G-Star Raw Denim open their first store in Edinburgh, with the expertise of Mark Smith Glazing.

2005

The company begin to win more major contracts for businesses in the financial sector (The Royal Bank of Scotland and HBOS), commercial (Marks and Spencer), housing associations and building companies such as Applecross.

J&B Windows are the only company in Edinburgh to manufacture PVC windows and doors and still remain the only manufacturer in Edinburgh to this day.

2007

2006 - Through the demand in the market for PVC windows and doors, Mark Smith Glazing Ltd. purchase J&B Windows.

2007 - After the success of the G-Star store in the capital. Mark Smith Glazing Ltd. are asked to provide services to Edinburgh's first Replay Denim store.

2009

With now 15 members of staff between Mark Smith Glazing Ltd. and J&B Windows, Mark has earned and built a reputation for providing the highest quality of standards possible in the trade. From his days as a lecturer at Edinburgh's Telford College, he has always had an eye for detail and strives to expand and evolve his businesses so that his customers can always expect the best in quality and customer care.

2011

J&B Windows changes to Mark Smith Windows.

Mark continues to work for prestigious clients such as White Stuff, with the opening of the new store on Edinburghs opulent George Street and Glasgow.
